Coaches

Rocky Lotito

Rocky was a wildly successful debater on the APDA circuit and has been coaching the Columbia Debate team since graduating from Boston University in 2009. While at BU, he was the president of the Boston University Debate Team, which finished as 3rd Club of the Year during his senior year. He also won 4th and 10th Team of the Year as well as 10th Speaker of the Year during the 2008-2009 season. Though proud his many debating accomplishments, Rocky is perhaps best remembered for inventing the famous snack food “dochos” and for his starring role in his middle school’s production of Bye Bye Birdie.

Leor Sapir

Leor holds a fellowship position at the Tikvah Fund, concentrating on political philosophy and war ethics. He attended college in Israel, where he was active in the BP circuit both as a competitor and as a coach. Leor looks forward to working with all debaters, novice as well as those who, like himself, should start thinking about life after debate (hint hint). Above all, he is proud to be part of Columbia’s debating society and feels lucky to be working with such an amazing group of people.
