COLUMBIA INVITATIONAL CANCELLED for 1/22-1/24

Official note from our Tournament Director:

First of all, I want to apologize for the delayed decision. Over the past few hours, we have been carefully deliberating, and I appreciate your patience in this stressful time.

We have decided to cancel the tournament. I understand that this may come as disappointing news, and we apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. The current forecasts indicate that New York and the surrounding region will be on blizzard watch on Friday and Saturday, and this will make travel within the city difficult. This will also jeopardize travel out of the city on both highways and airplanes. We decided that these adverse conditions threaten the safety of our tournament’s guests and the success of the tournament too much for us to hold the tournament. Please be sure to cancel all travel plans. The cancelation of the tournament means that schools will not be charged for any entries or drop fees. Please understand that a lot of thought went into this decision, and we are confident that we have chosen to do what is best for everyone.

I would like to thank our tab staff for helping us make an informed decision.

Going forward, we are planning to reschedule our tournament for a later date in the semester, possibly February or March. We don’t want the tournament’s cancelation to prevent students from experiencing Columbia’s campus and exciting tournament for a weekend. We want to field interest for a rescheduled tournament, so we ask that you fill out this brief survey letting us know if you would be interested in attending a rescheduled tournament and when you would prefer us to schedule it. Please find the survey below:
